This journey began nearly a decade ago with the desire of Matt and Ericka Pettit to plant a church - in a rapidly growing city somewhere out west and somewhere that desperately needed Jesus. Vegas fit the criteria.

Between then and finally moving to Vegas in January of 2005, God did some amazing things. A major part of Matt's ministry has been leading Sunday School ministries and developing ministry strategies as a co-pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Knightdale, North Carolina. Jeff Harris and Mike Wheeler, former ministry lay people from North Carolina, moved to Las Vegas to join Matt's efforts to plant North Valley Fellowship in the spring of 2006.

North Valley Fellowship started that spring as a small weekly Bible study in a garage. We then moved to a living room, next we moved to a park, the United Artist Theaters and then to the University of Phoenix.     North Valley has developed a strong relationship with a number of supporting churches.  Just south of Las Vegas in Henderson NV, we found our strongest allies.

North Valley has partnered with Hope Baptist in the greatest challenge of reaching Las Vegas for Christ. In addition to our church partners, North Valley has developed a community alliance with the Boys and Girls Clubs and the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, which have already given us huge opportunities to serve our local area.

In August 2009 North Valley moved to its current location at Cimarron Memorial high school in northwest Las Vegas along US-95—one of the city’s busiest thoroughfares.  God continues to bless NVF and this facility provides a full theatrical stage, a beautiful area for the Children’s ministry and it allows each service to seat up to 500.  Where North Valley goes next…..stick around: we wait expectantly on a God who never ceases to amaze and always provides!
